Abstract

In this paper, based on the idea that coupled growth will occur even in the peritectic system if the melt is highly undercooled below the hypothetical congruent melting temperature of the peritectic phase, containerless solidification experiments were carried out on Nd-Ba-Cu-O. The peritectic phase diagrams were categorized into two different types from the point of view of the metastable phase diagram on peritectic phase. The stability of the coupled growth is discussed based on the two types of the peritectic phase diagrams.
