Abstract

Electricity generated from renewable power sources is, without doubt, a powerful weapon for the world in the fight to save the planet and achieve energy independence. However, renewables will have to overcome many challenges, including economic competitiveness, development factors, supply concerns and public policy issues. The race is on to increase the use of renewable energy, but as Nicholas Newman explains, someone will have to foot the bill.
