Abstract

At present in counselor education and training pro grams, there is a co tinuing, unanswered question: What are the advantages and disadvantages of on-campus vs. off-campus education programs? The on-campus vs. off-campus question has attracted a considerable amount of attention. It has been noted that there may be some difference between students trained on campus and those trained off-campus in relation to the on the-job activities (1). At the same time McDaniel and Ligon (4) suggest that part-time counselor education may be advantageous over full-time study. The present study sought to measure how perceptions of certain counseling terms changed over time for on-campus and off-campus counseling trainees.
