Abstract

The models and approaches to applying artificial intelligence and expert systems to counseling are discussed. The limitations of artificial intelligence and expert systems use in counseling are explored. Appropriate candidates for counseling versus those for expert systems are presented, and programming considerations are offered. Techniques to deal with rational, nonrational, and irrational thoughts and feelings are also discussed.
