Abstract

Using a modulation technique of transmitted probe light a recently predicted enhanced absorption in the electron-hole liquid is confirmed. This resonance is due to the Coulomb interaction acting resonantly at the Fermi edge. Comparison is made with calculations taking into account a screened potential, self-energy shifted bands, and warping of the valence band.
