Abstract

The de-excitation γ-ray spectra of 127I, 129I and 133Cs have been studied following Coulomb excitation with 6.0 to 11.0 MeV α-particles. The γ-ray energies, branching ratios and B(E2) values have been determined and angular distribution measurements have been used to assign the spin value of 11 2 to the 696 keV level in 129I and the 633 keV level in 133Cs. The results have been compared with recent calculations based on the intermediate coupling: unified nuclear model.
