Abstract

Human fetal liver RNA translated in a rabbit reticulocyte cell-free system directed synthesis of two polypeptides which could be identified by immunological competition as L and L′ pyruvate kinase subunits. Messenger RNAs specifying synthesis of both types of subunits exhibited a sedimentation coefficient of 21–22 S.
