Abstract
This paper reviews the development history of the SunSine™300 AC Photovoltaic Module. A synopsis of the PVMaT 5Al program for cost reduction and manufacturing process improvements for the new SunSine™325 AC Module is presented. The areas of investigation include; compact inverter packaging, soft switching, circuit optimization, design for manufacture, manufacturing process improvements, export and other versions, and a pilot production manufacturing assessment. This is a two-year program that began in May 1998. The paper ends with a summary of the anticipated results of this work.
