Abstract

The cost-of-living crisis is having a profound effect on many nurses, midwives and healthcare support workers across the UK. This piece explores how in-work poverty is affecting their capacity to provide care for others. It considers the impact on the workforce’s mental health and well-being and practical issues including access to digital technologies. It highlights the need for a nationally co-ordinated approach to providing sustained support to staff and patients during this time.
