Abstract
The importance of the use of methods, techniques and tools in the project management is each more recognized in all the areas of the human activity. The relevance of the activity of Project management is recognized for organizations, community and people; as much in the public sector as in the private sector.In the area of software and information technology (IT), the subject assumes a bigger importance day by day. This is caused, in part, by the agreement of that a significant part of failure in software projects is related with a bad project management or, some times, by a complete absence of anagement.Inside of the context, this work presents a detailed study of the Management of the Costs in Projects of IT in agreement with the methodology PMI (Project Management Institute), approaching conceptual aspects, methods, techniques and tools used to solve problems of estimates of costs.
