Abstract

The use of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation for out-of-hospital cardiac arrests (OHCA) has increased significantly. Extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation (ECPR) is resource intensive, costly and technically challenging, presenting significant challenges for health system planners. We sought to review the cost-effectiveness of using ECPR compared with conventional CPR for OHCA.
