Abstract

Abstract This is a retrospective study of 53 chronic pain patients who were treated at the Boulder Pain Control Center. Only one measure of treatment success was examined: the cost benefit of that treatment to two workman's compensation insurance carriers. This was accomplished by using a model that projected, in our study population, an average cost benefit of $238,515 per patient. The social value of determining such measures in chronic pain patients is discussed.
