Abstract

This paper presents a modeling effort performed to determine the viability of a hardware build for a megawatt class dynamic load emulator. The paper also presents various pieces of the hardware build such as the power electronic building block which is necessary for the current injectors and the constant power load emulator. Once the emulator feasibility was established, the hardware components were selected based on suitability and availability. The model was then populated with appropriate components to run multiple case studies. Three case studies of interest are presented.
