Abstract
This interview delves into Rane Willerslev’s research in the Siberian Arctic. His research focuses on the history of the Chukchi and Yukaghir tribes through the Soviet era and their current exploitation by crony capitalism. He also expands on their unique cultural practices of “voluntary death” and the way that ties in with their cosmological understandings of the universe.
