Abstract

Higher dimensional cosmological solutions in vacuum with two spatially flat subspaces are studied in the framework of the extended Einstein theory with the Gauss-Bonnet term. It is found that the initial singularity can be eliminated. A large discrepancy of the two scales of the submanifolds is produced rapidly in the early stage. In the later stage the model universe approaches to a higher dimensional Kasner solution.
