Abstract

A reinvestigation of the aliphatic nitro compounds present in fruit of the karaka tree, Corynocarpus laevigatus, resulted in the identification of a further six esters of 3-nitropropanoic acid and glucopyranose, of which two do not appear to have been described before; 1H and 13C NMR data are reported for these compounds.
