Abstract

Impaired insight into illness is a common feature of schizophrenia that is associated with poor clinical and functional outcomes. Prior neuroimaging studies that examined the structural correlates of impaired insight have reported mixed results. This study aimed to examine the relationship of impaired insight with (i) cortical thickness and (ii) subcortical volumes in a large sample of patients with schizophrenia.
