Abstract
This paper examines corruption with special reference to Islamic viewpoint. Different acts of corrupt practices were identified. These include fraud, money laundering, and misappropriation of funds and abuse of office. It was discovered that a lot of reasons are responsible for these acts. These include greediness, self-esteem, under employment, and poor leadership. Their effects consist of inflation, poverty and agony, and bad international image for Nigeria. The solutions to these problems include appropriate penalty, removal of immunity from the 1999 constitution, and designing a course on the evil effects of corruption, to be made compulsory at all levels of our educational institutions.
