Abstract

Corrosion assessment technology is gradually improved. Sensing technologies are being studied a lot to identify and respond to corrosion of rebars before corrosion occurs, away from the existing methods such as half-cells that remove concrete. This study was to evaluate rebar corrosion status using Bayes inference from voltage potential data. The probability distribution of non-corroded rebar was found for applying Bayes inference. The corrosion state of the rebar was evaluated using the posterior distribution derived from the fitted distribution. As result, the corrosion state could be assessed by the Bayesian method, and the Bayes approach derived the results conservatively.
