Abstract

We develop a procedure for efficient extraction from oak bark (Quercus Robur) and chips and tea leaves (Camellia Sinensis). The influence of these extracts on the corrosion-electrochemical properties of 20 steel in a 5% hydrochloric acid solution is studied. It is shown that the efficiency of inhibitors increases with their concentrations in acid solutions and holding time. The results of massmetric tests are used to compute the activation energy, which reveals a noticeable retardation of corrosion processes in the inhibited media. According to the results of electrochemical calculations, the adsorption of both extracts on the steel surface can be described by the Langmuir isotherm.
