Abstract

The resistance of the Sanicro 28 alloy to different types of corrosion in various environments is described: General corrosion in wet-process phosphoric acid and superphosphoric acid; in sulphuric, hydrochloric, nitric, hydrofluoric and organic acids and in caustics; stress corrosion cracking in de-aerated H 2S/Cl − — environments as well as in aerated aqueous chloride solutions; pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride containing environments. Laboratory test results as well as practical experience have demonstrated the great versatility in applications for Sanicro 28 by reason of its excellent corrosion resistance.
