Abstract

Corrosion of mild steel in aqueous solutions of alcohol has been investigated. The rate of corrosion increases with increase in alcohol content upto 60% and then decreases. Organic salts like sodium benzoate and sodium mereaptobenzothiazole have been used as inhibitors. Both are anodic inhibitors as revealed from the polarization studies.
