Abstract
An introduction to the fundamentals of soil corrosion is given. The factors which affect the corrosion of metallic reinforcements in reinforced earth structures are outlined and major areas of risk in structures identified. A brief outline is given of the TRRL sponsored research programme into corrosion problems in reinforced earth structures. /Author/
