Abstract

Corrosion inhibitors are effective in corrosion mitigation under CCUS conditions. Adding corrosion inhibitors is a relatively economical, effective, and versatile metal corrosion control method, which is suitable for the whole process of CCUS. Corrosion inhibitors are chemical substances or compounds that form a hydrophobic protective film on the surface of metal materials through physical and chemical actions that protect metal materials from interacting with the corrosive medium. Any substance that can significantly reduce the corrosion rate by adding a small dosage to the corrosive medium is called a corrosion inhibitor. Adding corrosion inhibitors can effectively reduce the corrosion rate of metals used in CO2 capture plants, CO2 transportation pipelines, wellbore oiltubes and casings, etc.
