Abstract

The corrosion behavior of pure aluminum was evaluated in dilute concentrations of sodium fluoride and sodium sulfate solutions at 40°C. The open circuit potential (OCP), corrosion amount, and surface roughness were measured to check the corrosion potential, amount of corrosion, and surface roughness, respectively. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images and energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectra were also taken to observe the surface morphology, elemental composition, and other analyses.
