Abstract

Corrosion and electrochemical behavior of Al-Cu-Fe ingots with quasicrystalline phase in an aerated solution of 3% NaCl at 25 °C have been studied. Samples of ingots of Al-Cu-Fe alloys with a diameter of 6 mm, obtained by drawing the melt into a quartz tube at a cooling rate of about 250 °С/s. It is shown that alloying with scandium decreases the rate of free corrosion iсor. Annealing into single-phase quasicrystalline state of Al63Cu25Fe12 ingot also has a positive effect on corrosion characteristics.
