After our paper was accepted for publication, we were made aware of a chapter in a dissertation that invoked signaling theory, a topic related to impression management, to examine the effect of realism on investor reactions (Guo, 2012). We wish to acknowledge it since the issues examined in this chapter are related to those discussed in our paper. References Guo, W. 2012.
