Abstract
Guanine plus cytosine content of the DNA of Coccidioides immitis. D. PAPPAGIANIS, A. ORNELAS & R. HECTOR, Sabouraudia: Journal of Medical and Veterinary Mycology, 23, 451–454. In this paper we stated that “to our knowledge, the DNA composition of Histoplasma capsulatum and Blastomyces dermatitidis has not been determined”. We have since learned that the mean nuclear G+C contents of 47.3% and 48.2% respectively were measured for these fungi by Bawdon, R. E., Garrison, R. G. & Fina, L. R. in 1972. (Deoxyribonucleic acid base composition of the yeast-like and mycelial phases of Histoplasma capsulatum and Blastomyces dermatitidis. Journal of Bacteriology, 111, 593–596.) We apologize to these authors for our failure to note this publication.
