First published December 10, 2020. doi: 10.1152/physrev.00038.2019.In the original article, FIGURE 6 contained unpublished data on chick chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) figures and tabular data. The data were incorrectly attributed to Ref. 76 in the publication. Articles published in Physiological Reviews cannot contain non-peer-reviewed data. The corrected FIGURE 6 and its legend appear below, where the authors present CAM data and analysis published in 2015 in Ref. 191 of the article. The corrected figure and legend do not add references to the article. No rewriting of the article text was required.FIGURE 6.Angiogenesis-relevant activities of l-thyroxine (T4), T4 linked to agarose (T4-ag), and nanoparticulate tetrac (Tetrac) in the chick chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) model. The CAM model is as previously described (19). T4-agarose cannot enter the cell, and nanoparticulate tetrac cannot enter the cell nucleus. A and B: in CAM results A and B, the pro-angiogenic activities of T4- and T4-agarose are similar in magnitude, consistent with action of T4 at the cell surface (integrin αvβ3). Tetrac eliminates the vascular activities of T4 and T4-ag. This is consistent with the known inhibitory action of Tetrac at the integrin receptor for thyroid hormone (60, 61, 76). C: table comparing angiogenesis index data for the compounds studied. Figure is modified from Mousa et al. (191).Download figureDownload PowerPointThis article has no references to display.
