Abstract

Second virial coefficients and dilute-gas transport coefficient data for the inert gases neon to xenon are satisfactorily interpreted on the basis of a universal reduced pair potential energy function. However, molecular beam data and high-temperature viscosity data, considered together, provide evidence that the repulsive region of this curve is much harder for neon than for the other rare gas molecules.
