Abstract

A recent article stated that Sunscreen is a vital tool to protecting against/reducing the risk of developing skin cancer. However, that is only for squamous cell carcinoma and perhaps basal cell carcinoma. Sunscreen actually increases the risk of melanoma since it blocks solar UVB that produces vitamin D but does not block UVA that is the major risk factor for melanoma.
