Abstract

A rubber tube containing 40 mg of radium in three platinum tubes was recently missed during treatment of a patient at the Royal South Hants Hospital, Southampton. After exhaustive search, made with portable Geiger-counter equipment, had failed to show any indication of the position of the lost radium, an approach was made to A.E.R.E. Harwell.
