Abstract

Objective To explore, the correlation between psychological health status and social support among Chinese nurses in Singapore. Methods 37 Chinese nurses working in Singapore were investigated with SCL-90 and SSRS, and the correlation between them was analyzed. Results The total scores of SCL-90 in this group were higher than the norm (P < 0. 01), the factor scores of interpersonal relationship, depression, anxiety, hostility, horror were higher than the norm, and there were negative correlation between somzatization, interpersonal relationship and social support. Conclusions There are apparent psychological symptoms and limited social support among Chinese nurses in Singapore, who should be more concerned by society.
