Abstract

Psoriasis is a common chronic inflammatory skin disease, with high incidence, complex etiology and unclear pathogenesis. It can severely affect the physical and mental health and the quality of life of patients. Recent studies have found that fungi and fungal infection may be one of factors influencing the occurrence and development of psoriasis. Psoriasis and fungal infection can affect each other. Even some biological agents for the treatment of psoriasis can cause fungal infection. Thus, it is necessary to understand the correlations of psoriasis with Candida, Malassezia and dermatophytes, as well as their differential diagnosis. This review summarizes new progress in correlations of pathogenic fungi with psoriasis, providing reference for psoriasis-related researches.
