Abstract
An equation for correlating the vapor pressures of pure substances is developed. When this equation is used with reliable thermal data (Δ H v and Δ C 0 p at 298.15 K) it can be applied for: 1. checking the consistency of vapor pressure data; 2. extrapolation to the low pressure region. It was observed that for homologous series, parameters of the proposed equation vary smoothly. It enables the formulation of a general correlation of vapor pressures of substances belonging to a given homologous series.
