Abstract

Objective To explore the correlation of knowledge, attitude and behavior on occupational protection of nurses. Methods 679 nurses who worked in the Women's and Children's Hospitals were included in the study. Their knowledge, attitude and behavior of occupational protection were investigated. The study protocol was approved by the Ethical Review Board of Investigation in Human Being of West China Second University Hospital. Informed consent was obtained from each nurses. Results In domain of basic concepts of occupational protection, the attitude was positively correlated with behavior (r= 0.028, P=0.000) . In domain of protection of nursing behavior, the attitude also was positively correlated with behavior (r=0.173, P=0.000) ,and the knowledge had positive correlation with attitude in domain of cytotoxic medicine protection (r=0.182, P=0.005) . Conclusions Since a positive correlation was found between attitude and behavior of nurses on occupational protection, it is useful to improve compliance by changing their attitude toward occupational protection.
