Abstract

High pressure vapor-liquid equilibria of binary mixtures were correlated by pseudocubic perturbed hard sphere equation of state with the repulsion term of Carnahan-Starling, the equation of state strictly satisfying the critical point requirements of pure substances. The mixing rules were empirically introduced for application of the equation of state to mixtures. For binary systems containing carbon dioxide, saturated liquid densities and equilibrium compositions were simultaneously correlated with the equation of state in the present study.
