Abstract

We present correlation effects on the spin‐resolved ‘electron—test charge’ dielectric functions ε↑↑(q) and ε↓↓(q) of a spin‐polarized electron gas (SPEG). The correlation effects are included in terms of spin‐dependent local‐field corrections (LFCs). Numerical results of spin‐resolved static dielectric functions, which are formulated with a use of self‐consistent local‐field corrections, are compared with those of the random‐phase approximation (RPA). We show that correlation corrections suppress the dielectric screening for parallel spin carriers in an SPEG. But, the behavior of spin‐polarization dependence for ε↑↑(q) and ε↓↓(q) goes in opposite directions.
