Abstract

Electrical and selected spectroscopic measurements on single crystal NiS2−xSex (0≤x≤0.71) samples are interpreted in terms of a qualitative band structure scheme that resolves several unusual experimental observations. The guiding principle is that the degree of electron correlation can be controlled by varying the degree of substitution of Se for S.
