Abstract

A T4 phage lysozyme amber mutant e C4A produced about 1% of the normal level of phage lysozyme in Escherichia coli B infected cells. The lysis of these infected cells was delayed for 60 minutes. These data demonstrated that the level of phage lysozyme affects the timing of the lysis of the phage infected cells.
