Abstract

A correlation study is made of the intensity changes of the O 2(0–1) atmospheric band at 864.5 nm and the NaD lines at 589.3 nm, which are observed from the ground level with a time separation of about 5 min: a tilting-filter photometer is used. It is found that the correlation between the O 2(0–1) atmospheric band and the NaD lines are rather excellent. The correlation between the O 2(0–1) atmospheric band and the NaD lines is compared with that between the OH(6-2) band and the NaD lines. It is found that the latter is a little stronger than the former.
