Abstract

Using Brillouin scattering techniques we have studied the low-temperature properties of electrolyte glasses. From these measurements we have deduced the density of states P̄ of the low-energy tunneling systems also present in these glasses with extremely low glass transition temperature T g. Including data from literature on “conventional glasses” We are able to show that the relation P ̄ = P ̄ o exp (Δ/kT g) holds for T g varying in the range 135 K < T g < 1500 K.
