Abstract

Objective To discuss the correlation between self-care ability and life quality of elderly stroke patients,so as to provide references for taking nursing measures,improving self-care ability and quality of life.Methods Totals of 303 cases of elderly stroke patients were chosen by convenience sampling.The exercise of self-care agency scale (ESCA) and WHO quality of life scale (WHOQOL-OLD) were used to investigate patients and analyze results.Results Totals of 300 questionnaires were recovered,with the rate of 99.01%.Their score of ESCA was (110.45 ± 19.40),WHOQOL-OLD was (101.110 ± 12.306),and there was a positive correlation between WHOQOL-OLD and ESCA (r =0.300,P < 0.05).Self area,behavior experience area,opportunity area and intimate relationship area in life quality were also positively correlated with self-care skill,self-responsibility,self-conception and self-care knowledge in self-care ability (P < 0.05).Conclusions The current status of self-care ability in elderly stroke patients is not ideal.To improve their self-care ability can effectively improve their quality of life.
