Abstract

Objective To explore the current situation of medication adherence and correlation between it and family care among tuberculosis patients. Methods From August 2016 to August 2017, we selected 101 tuberculosis (TB) patients from a class Ⅲ grade A hospital of Yunnan Province by convenience sampling. The questionnaire survey was carried out with the Morisky medication adherence measure and the family care index. The SPSS 20.0 was used to statistical analysis to understand the current situation of medication adherence and correlation between it and family care of patients. Results A total of 101 questionnaires were sent out and 98 valid questionnaires were recovered with 97.02% for the effective recovery rate. The average score of medication adherence of TB patients was (7.12±1.39) with 62 patients in good medication adherence. The average score of family care of TB patients was (7.51±2.08) . The score of medication adherence was positively correlated with the dimension score and the total average score of family care (P<0.05) . Conclusions The medication adherence of TB patients is good. Patients with good family care have good medication adherence. Strengthen patients' family support to improve family support power during providing nursing care for TB patients.
