Abstract

The indoor air quality of lecture room in the university located in Xi'an city centre was assessed. The primary aim was to obtain correlations between the air distribution and pollutants. It was found that air distribution had important effect on the IAQ, and rational air distribution has played an important part in pollutants dispersion and attenuation. The visual air-flow field of lecture room was obtained via the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method and Fluent software, meanwhile, some parameters of indoor pollutants was gained by field testing and the lecture room characteristics were investigated. The results showed that indoor pollutants can't be removed just depending on natural ventilation when there are vortexes in the air distribution. Furthermore, reasonable suggestions for creating healthy teaching environment and better IAQ are offered.
