Abstract

This study presents the extractive technological processes and processing of some selective vegetal extracts in order to obtain an antioxidant product with prophylactic and therapeutic activity in hepatic diseases. For obtaining this bioproduct two species have been used: Sylibum marianum L. and Hypericum perforatum L. This bioproduct has been characterized by chemical analysis, chemiluminescence, antioxidant and hepatoprotective activities. The results of the in vivo experimental methods emphasizes that the tested vegetal product decreases the lipid peroxidation and liver enzimes level in CCl4-treated rats, thus recommending this bioproduct for utilization in prophylaxy and treatment of hepatic/hepatobiliar diseases.
