Abstract

Objective To explore the correlation of positivity ratio and hardiness in cerebral infarction patients with dysphagia and indwelling gastric tube. Methods The general data, positive and negative emotion and hardiness were evaluated by positive and negative emotion scale and hardiness scale.Thecorrelation ofpositivity ratio and hardiness in cerebral infarction patients with dysphagia and indwelling gastric tube was analyzed. Results The average score of negative emotion and positive emotion was (28.7±6.3) and (23.2±5.4). The positivity ratiowas (0.8±0.2), which was significantly lower than the norm. The average score of hardiness was (13.5±2.0) and the average score of each item was (1.9±0.2). The highest score in 4 dimensions was control, followed by challenge, tenacity and commitment. The hardiness was positively correlated to the positive emotion and positivity ratio(P<0.01). The negative emotion and hardiness presented negative correlation (P<0.01). Conclusions The positivity ratio and hardiness were in the low level in cerebral infarction patients with dysphagia and indwelling gastric tube, and presents positive correlation. The nurses should develop the positive emotion andpositivity ratio of patients to enhance patients′ hardiness. Key words: Cerebral infarction; Dysphagia; Hardiness; Positivity ratio; Correlation
