Abstract

Background: Hirsutism affects 5-15% of reproductive-age women and is characterized by excessive terminal hair growth in a male pattern distribution. The gold standard screening tool for quantifying hirsutism is the mFG score. In the absence of specific hormonal markers and preexisting depilation confounding the physical exam for hirsutism, we are the first to study if adolescent vs physician rated hirsutism using mFG correlates to androgen levels.
