Abstract

This case report describes the orthodontic treatment performed on a 10-year-old female patient in mixed dentition stage who presented with maxillary constriction that was associated with Angle Class III malocclusion, severe crowding, and high mandibular plane angle. She had the main complaint of an unaesthetic smile. The rapid maxillary expansion approach was chosen, followed by four first premolars extraction with fixed appliance. Two mandibular miniscrews were used for anchorage control and 0.018 × 0.025-in beta titanium advance archwire were used to increase labial tipping of the maxillary incisors. After 3 years, favorable results were achieved for the occlusion, dental aesthetics, and facial profile. External apical root resorption was noted in the maxillary incisors. The patient's self-esteem improved. Treatment results were stable after 1-year follow-up.
