Abstract

For the eighth consecutive spring issue, the Review presents a selective survey of reported federal court decisions which addressed issues arising in the institutional corrections and detention settings. The present survey concentrates upon the federal courts of appeals, although some district court cases have been summarized where their importance or uniqueness appeared to merit attention. The reader is reminded, as always, that the cases surveyed do not serve as binding precedent beyond their respective jurisdictions, and that some of the decisions are being appealed and are therefore subject to possible modification or reversal.
